I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands and waters on which I live and work, and pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the wisdom, history and traditions therein. In Michigan, the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Bodewadmi nations. In Hawaii, the Kānaka Maoli. In South Carolina, the Kiawah and Ittiwan of the Cosabo People. In Alaska, the Dena’ina Athabascan people and the Native Village of Eklutna.
With a commitment to recognition and reconciliation, I acknowledge the ongoing impact of past policies and practices, and commit myself to creating justice and equality for all people.
